Chris Maybury

Mr. Chris Maybury is the chairman and founder of Beacon Events Hong Kong a company that helps businesses chart their course to success with their insightful and industry-focused events. He was Chief Executive Officer and a shareholder of the Institute for International Research (IIR). Under his leadership, IIR grew into the world’s largest conference and performance improvement company and he was instrumental in its sale to Informa in 2004 for USD 1.3 billion. Mr. Maybury has an extensive business background having held several senior positions at News Corporation including Chief Executive European Marketing and CEO Times Newspapers which included the Times of London and the Sunday Times. He joined News Corporation from the board of Marks and Spencer where he had served as Property Director. Mr. Maybury enjoys sailing, car racing and is an avid wine collector. He serves on the board of several charities and research organizations and is a director of several property development companies.
