About the Program

The Summer Student Entrepreneur Program (SSEP) is an eight-week program designed to develop young Bermudians into the Island’s next wave of entrepreneurs. Participants ages 16 – 23 will learn practical business skills like, earning revenue, creating a business plan, conducting SWOT analysis, and much more! You’ll even get paid for attending each meeting!

Earn your own money by selling your products and services. Compete with your peers! The three participants with the most profit will earn additional 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place financial rewards.

Be Your Own Boss

Why spend the Summer working on someone else’s dream when you can be building your own! Learn how to be your own boss and build your own business.

Receive Start-Up Funding

All students will receive a weekly financial stipend and startup funds to get their businesses started.

Receive Support & Training

All students will receive, quality educational training, resources and support to launch, grow and sustain their own enterprises.

Important Dates:

April 30th, 2023	Application Submission Deadline	All applications must be submitted by this date to be considered for the program.
May 8th - 12th, 2023	Application Reivew Dates	All submitted applications will be reviewed by a panel for completeness.
May 15th - 19th, 2023	Interview Dates	Applicants will be called in for Interviews if their applications make it through the first round of review.
May 22nd, 2023	Acceptance Date	All applicants will be notified if they have been accepted or denied entrance into the program.
July 3rd - 14th, 2023 \| 9am - 3pm	Education & Training Sessions	All successful applicants will be required to attend the education and training sessions held at the BEDC Offices from 9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday.
July 21st, 2023	City Hall Launch Event	All successful applicants will be required to attend the public launch event for program.
August 25th, 2023	Close-Out Ceremony	All successful applicants will be required to attend the Close-Out Ceremony for program.
